A one of a kind spiritual companion to help the faithful prepare prayerfully and humbly for the Holy Qurbono—the Body and Blood of Christ. Rooted in Scripture and the teachings of the Fathers of the Orthodox Christian Tradition, this book help guide you toward repentance and humility.
This book is offered to guide the faithful in prayerful preparation for the Holy Qurbono—the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. As St. Paul warns: “Whoever eats the body or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner is guilty of sin” (1 Corinthians 11:27). We come before the mysteries with humility and repentance, aware of our unworthiness, yet trusting in the great mercy and love of Christ. St. John Chrysostom urges us to approach with tears and contrition, while St. Symeon the New Theologian calls for purity of soul and focused prayer.
Preparation is more than reciting prayers; it is a sincere reflection on our spiritual illnesses, accompanied by regular confession, which opens the door to Christ’s healing grace. Only with clean hands and pure hearts (Psalm 24:4) can we partake of these sacred gifts, receiving them as the source of our life and healing.
Perhaps praying all the prayers in this book might be too much for you right now. Saying a few prayers from your whole heart is better than saying a bunch of prayers just from your lips. When preparing, talk to your spiritual guides to decide which prayers to include in your preparation. Although we can never really say that we are prepared to receive our Lord, our hope is that this book will help you approach the Holy Qurbono prayerfully with humility, faith, and true repentance.

Holy Qurbana: The Queen of Sacraments: Seen Through The Eyes of Little Mariam
by Mathew Samuel
Holy Qurbana - The Queen of Sacraments (Seen through the eyes of little Mariam) is the journey of a curious little girl with her uncle Basil, through the Divine Liturgy of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The conversational style, illustrations and narration are designed to evoke interest in children for the Divine Liturgy while providing relevant insights.
"I love how thoughtfully the author has adapted our liturgical traditions into a story. And the illustrations are amazing! So detailed and so accurate to life. I think the pacing (content of chapters, and spacing of text) of the book is wonderful. Very simple to grasp and not overwhelmed by content, but very very rich in description and explanation."
~Dr. Annah Kuriakose, New Jersey
Author of "Come Near To Me", a children's book that explores themes of grief, faith, and the strength of community in the Orthodox Church.
The author has created a masterpiece! Really a great way to get our kids to be part of the Liturgical life of the Church. What's interesting to me is - the conversation is kept central throughout the book, that's really catchy."
~Rev. Fr. John Easo (Diocese of Bombay)
Whispers of Repentance: A Quiet Road of Redemption and Return
by Fr. Timothy (Tenny) Thomas
In the Orthodox Christian tradition, repentance is not an event but a way of life—a continual turning of the heart toward God. Whispers of Repentance is a Lenten devotional rooted in this ancient understanding of metanoia, inviting the reader into the stillness where true healing begins.
Written by Fr. Timothy (Tenny) Thomas, this devotional accompanies the faithful through the sacred season of Great Lent with daily reflections shaped by Holy Scripture, the prayers of the Church, and the wisdom of the Holy Fathers. Fr. Tenny gently leads readers along the narrow path of repentance, watchfulness, and humility, revealing repentance not as condemnation, but as restoration—our return to communion with God.
Each meditation encourages silence, attentiveness, and honest self-examination, drawing the reader deeper into the Church’s ascetical rhythm of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. In a world filled with noise and distraction, Whispers of Repentance offers a quiet space to encounter the mercy of Christ and to rediscover the joy that flows from a softened heart.
This devotional is well suited for personal prayer, parish use, and spiritual guidance throughout Great Lent, helping prepare the soul for the radiant hope of the Resurrection.
Enter the silence. Practice repentance. And walk the ancient road that leads from the Cross to the empty tomb.

The Uncontainable God in a Manger: The Mystery of the Incarnation
by Fr. Timothy (Tenny) Thomas
"One snippet from the lovely book strikes me as illustrative of the simplicity and the power of Father Timothy's words. From Day 8-Light in the Darkness,
"Before the coming of Christ, the world was covered in shadows-the shadow of sin, the darkness of ignorance, the chill of despair. But in the stillness of a Bethlehem night, a new Light dawned-not a light kindled by man, but the uncreated Light of God Himself." For me, these words bring Light into some of the darkness within my soul.
