This is the 2022 (3rd reprint edition with corrections and a revised Index of Names and Subjects) of The Scholar's Edition, designed for priests, theologians and the interested layperson. Edited with scholia and translated by Christopher Veniamin
ST. GREGORY PALAMAS represents Orthodox theology at its most sublime. Patristic theology in the fourteenth century, of which St. Gregory is indubitably the greatest exponent, touched the very boundaries of theological expression.
St. Gregory’s sermons are among the finest in Patristic literature. In his treatment of the manifold themes contained therein, he is remarkably consistent in maintaining a balance between originality of thought and strict adherence to the tradition of his predecessors. Moreover, his genius resides in the ease with which he demonstrates, as only a master of the spiritual life can, the refreshingly practical significance of the doctrines of the Church for the Life in Christ.

PHILOSOPHY OF PURPOSE: Why the two forms, The Homilies and the Sermons?
Our edition of Saint Gregory Palamas: The Homilies (800-pages) contains all sixty-three extant sermons of St. Gregory.
The series, “Sermons by Saint Gregory Palamas”, is a selection of St. Gregory’s homilies arranged thematically (each booklet is about 60 to 90 pages), but does not contain all sixty-three of his sermons.
The “Sermons” is currently comprised of The Saving Work of Christ, Mary the Mother of God, On the Saints, The Parables of Jesus, and Miracles of the Lord.
The reason for producing both of the above editions is twofold.
Firstly, The Homilies, are offered chiefly with scholars and pastors in mind, and thus contains a detailed introduction, scholia and indexes.
Secondly, “The Sermons”, are published mainly with church schools, homeschooling, and study groups in mind, providing just the simple text at an affordable price, and presupposes that the instructor would be teaching from the 800-page complete edition of The Homilies, thereby availing the class or group of its additional pedagogical materials.

THIS STUDY is based on a rigorous theological analysis of primary sources and aims to present the significance of the event of the Lord's Transfiguration on Mount Tabor by means of a diachronic investigation of some of the greatest masters of the spiritual life. Based on the three Synoptic Gospel narratives, it examines the Taborian theophany from the early Apocryphal Writings of the New Testament to the time of the Hesychast Controversy of the fourteenth century, and looks at this great revelation in writers who have been influential in our appreciation of the subject, taking each of them in turn analytically and within the context of their own theology and period, and focusing on important points of similarity and contrast in the themes they develop. In so doing, the investigation touches on many fundamental questions pertaining to the inner life of the Christian, including such themes as the divine status of Jesus Christ, the Trinitarian character of revelation, the role of the Holy Spirit, the importance of the ecclesial context, the vision of God, the transformation of the human person known as “theosis”, the non-dialectical character of our encounter with God, and our capacity to share in His life.

The Uncontainable God in a Manger: The Mystery of the Incarnation
by Fr. Timothy (Tenny) Thomas
"One snippet from the lovely book strikes me as illustrative of the simplicity and the power of Father Timothy's words. From Day 8-Light in the Darkness,
"Before the coming of Christ, the world was covered in shadows-the shadow of sin, the darkness of ignorance, the chill of despair. But in the stillness of a Bethlehem night, a new Light dawned-not a light kindled by man, but the uncreated Light of God Himself." For me, these words bring Light into some of the darkness within my soul.

Whispers of Repentance: A Quiet Road of Redemption and Return
by Fr. Timothy (Tenny) Thomas
In the Orthodox Christian tradition, repentance is not an event but a way of life—a continual turning of the heart toward God. Whispers of Repentance is a Lenten devotional rooted in this ancient understanding of metanoia, inviting the reader into the stillness where true healing begins.
Written by Fr. Timothy (Tenny) Thomas, this devotional accompanies the faithful through the sacred season of Great Lent with daily reflections shaped by Holy Scripture, the prayers of the Church, and the wisdom of the Holy Fathers. Fr. Tenny gently leads readers along the narrow path of repentance, watchfulness, and humility, revealing repentance not as condemnation, but as restoration—our return to communion with God.
Each meditation encourages silence, attentiveness, and honest self-examination, drawing the reader deeper into the Church’s ascetical rhythm of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. In a world filled with noise and distraction, Whispers of Repentance offers a quiet space to encounter the mercy of Christ and to rediscover the joy that flows from a softened heart.
This devotional is well suited for personal prayer, parish use, and spiritual guidance throughout Great Lent, helping prepare the soul for the radiant hope of the Resurrection.
Enter the silence. Practice repentance. And walk the ancient road that leads from the Cross to the empty tomb.
